Mentoring Sessions in the JRU IT Department

"Good mentors begin by making the person feel welcome and creating a stimulating sanctuary. They then establish what the person wants to explore during the session."

"Good mentors share ideas, tools and models the mentee can use to achieve success. They pass-on this knowledge in a way the person can accept."


In the Jose Rizal University IT Department, one of the items in its annual Faculty Development Plan is the mentoring session. During a period of time of usually in a week, faculty who have expertise and skill sets conduct sessions to colleagues in training and imparting knowledge plus actual skills laboratory practice on certain areas in web development, database management, object oriented design. This summer term's mentoring sessions include:
